Extended Hiatus.

I apologize for having to do this last minute, but I am forced to extend this website’s hiatus. As it is a little hard to keep up with. I’ve created a personal blog/digital journey through livejournal for those who are interested and would like to know what is going on in my personal life. But as of right now, and probably sometime into next week, this website will not be updated. I may pop in, who knows.
I’ve noticed my hits, and the fact that everyone understood my last hiatus post, and didn’t come until the ‘last day of hiatus’ and I feel bad for not having updated since then, as I’m under the impression people were looking forward to hearing from me.

Also, I’ve fallen victim to writers block over the week, because of emotional stresses. I find it very hard to focus on one thing that doesn’t pertain to my fiance, my child, or recent events in my life. (This is mainly why I’m extending the hiatus) – If you have any recent and interesting news, regarding or pertaining to the subject of religion or lackthereof, please feel free to leave a comment or two. I need something to write about.

Holiday Hiatus.

I really hate to do this, seeing as though there are so many things that I want to discuss before the end of the Christmas Holiday, but I will be unable to. My fiance will be in town until at least the 30th. So I will be spending all of every minute with him and my family.
As I am most certain my blog will probably not even be active at all this week, I still felt the need to let my readers know not to expect any updates. I know I had said during my last video update that I wanted to make a video later that evening concerning the recent happenings in Uganda, as I still plan to make that video. Just not until after the 30th of this month. I apologize for not having been able to, I ended up doing some last minute shopping. I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday week, and a Happy New Year!

Separation of Church & State!

Kudo’s to my friend Justin Vacula, for organizing such a wonderful thing over the recent weeks. A friend of mine, has taken it upon himself to step in and has ordered that the Nativity Scene outside of his city’s Courthouse be taken down, due to it’s wrongful impression it gives of the residents of the town. It is as simple as saying: With having a Nativity Scene outside of a government building, promotes the idea of this town being all one religion and all of it’s residents abiding by one sole belief. When indeed, that is not the case.
This has caused an uproar in his town, with protests, lawyers getting involved, the whole 9. And I am very honored to call him a friend.

SocialVibe.

I’ve added a new widget called SocialVibe. It’s to help raise money to charities just by clicking. Yeah, I know. To us Rationalists, it’s sort of like: “Why do we have to click? Why can’t they just give the money? What does us clicking have to do with donations?” Frankly, I don’t know either. But, I’m going to put it up there just in case for whatever reason it is legit, and for each click it receives, a hungry child will be fed.

I also use this through Facebook. Although I have not received any progress on there, I hope to receive some here. I chose the charity because I think it is one of the most important. Preserving life through cancer treatment is important, yes. Saving wildlife is important, yes. Giving children across the world the chance to be educated is important, yes. However, I think no child should go hungry anywhere. What’s the point is pushing for education in all areas of the world, if children are hungry when they attend? What is more important, a child dying from hunger, or a woman who has lived part of her life and is dying of breast cancer? Polar bears going extinct, or children in Uganda, South Africa, and even in rare cases in the US, dying from starvation? I don’t mean to be rude or minimalize any other charity, or to make it seem as though any of those things are not important. Because breast cancer awareness and the progress in technology to help cure breast cancer, IS IMPORTANT. But, hunger can be solved simply by knocking back one of our trips to the moon, and donating that 33 million dollars that it would take to send that rocket into space, and giving it to a less fortunate country where children are dying because they don’t have necessary resources. I think anyone, religious and irreligious can agree that regardless of your faith, everyone is entitled to a meal. Regardless of how food GOT ON EARTH, everyone should be able to eat to live. So, in summary; make like Nike, and just do it. Thanks!

I had created this vlog earlier in the day, believing that I was going to link it to my old blog. Which I have deleted and I created this one right after. I figured this was a good topic for me to touch base on as a first post with my new website. Besides, I’m tired of writing. I just finished all the extra pages.
